A Commitment to Glam: How Saints & Scissors Changed up my Beauty Game

One of my worst, and yet, my best, qualities, is my indecisiveness. I have a difficult time making a choice, because everything seems so permanent, and I always want to make certain that I'm making a good decision before committing to anything. There are times when I've had such a hard time selecting a restaurant when dining out, that I will get back in my car and head back home because I don't want to get stuck eating something that I don't really enjoy. Sometimes I have a difficult time choosing an outfit to purchase, so I leave stores empty handed so that I won't have feelings of regret or leave something hanging in my closet with the tags still attached. And don't even get me STARTED on how selective I am when it comes to MEN. I refuse to commit to anyone unless I am content with my choice, so I have a hard time even bringing anyone home to meet my family, because if I'm not certain I want to keep them around, what's the point of letting them meet the awesomeness that is my family?!

Needless to say, I am even more commitment phobic when it comes to beauty services. I love salons and spas as much as the next girl, but there are so many options out there, that when it comes to staying loyal to one particular salon, I'm kind of like a 21 year old boy (or Robin Thicke): why be faithful, when there are so many options out there to choose from?

As a beauty aficionado and self-proclaimed beauty expert, I knew the day would come when I would eventually find and assemble a glam squad that I could entrust with my beauty needs. Just like we all know there will come a day when we meet someone who makes being with anybody else seem silly or pointless, I knew that I would meet the professionals who would spin me around in that salon chair and make me a believer in monogamy. It was only a matter of time.

Most of us know that someday someone is going to come along and change the game for us. They're going to be even more than we ever expected to find. We might even go back and forth about the idea of giving them a real shot to work on something real, but eventually, we know we're going to cave in. Just like it's hard to find a connection with another person on a romantic level, it's really hard to find someone who can cut or color your hair, give you a Brazilian wax, or shampoo and blowdry your hair in such a magical, life changing way, that it makes you want to lose everyone else's phone number.

After spending 4 hours on the spur of the moment in May with Jenna De Witt at Saints and Scissors Salon in Scottsdale, I felt like I had met another one of my soul sisters. We had so much in common, it was almost frightening, and Jenna is so friendly, down to earth, and has such good energy, 4 hours flew by. Most people would cringe at the idea of having to sit in a salon chair for 4 hours to have their hair foiled (if you've never seen how long my hair is in person--it is currently grazing my ass, like Rapunzel) but that time was well spent. Jenna is professional, has many years of experience working in notable, reputable salons, and is a native of Arizona. I walked out of the salon that evening with healthy, shiny, honey blonde hair. One of my closest girlfriends, Jessica, who is always upfront and honest, said my hair looked like "Sleeping Beauty Disney Princess hair." I don't know if I have ever received so many genuine, kind compliments about my highlights, hair color, or hair in general, like, ever. Jenna takes the time to listen to your vision, makes recommendations while also pointing out your strengths, and is the hairdresser I would hire if I was offered my own TV show someday (just putting that dream out into the universe.) Eva Longoria and Jessica Simpson had Ken Paves, Jennifer Lopez had Oribe, and I have Jenna De Witt. After all, a great hairdresser is every girl's greatest ally.

For sensational hair and quality customer service, forget all the other options, and call my girl Jenna at Saints and Scissors Salon in Old Town Scottsdale. There are plenty of fish in the sea, but a fabulous hairdresser is a real catch.

To Book an Appointment with Jenna, contact her at Saints and Scissors and be sure to let her know that Lorraine sent you.
